7 Tips to Effectively Control Your Money – Not the Other Way Around

Posted on November 20, 2017 by

Money is so easy to spend, yet so hard to earn. This is a dilemma faced by every person in the world. Money is finite yet the list of things to spend it on is endless. To save yourself from being broke, you must develop strategies to control money, otherwise, it will control you!

Dollar, cent, dime, centavo – it comes in different shapes and sizes but this non-living entity is making the world run like a mad dog. Though it is undeniably powerful, are we really that powerless against the influences of money? The answer to that question is a big fat NO!

  1. Know where it went wrong
You should know what started your problem. Investigate all your transactions and pinpoint the cause of the disaster. Once you have discovered the same, take the menace out of the system and be wary of similar risks.

  2. Prioritize
You have to accept that you cannot save everything. As the famous quote goes “Lose a battle, win the war”. Be mature with your decisions and let go of the unnecessary matters.

  3. Be smart with cost-cutting
Just because you have saved a few dollars by ceasing certain expenditures does not mean that you are making wise savings. There are certain expenses that are inevitable and necessary. Do not be rash. Know the possible consequences of the things that you are about to do.

  4. Craft a masterplan
Do not attack the problems aimlessly. You will need to meticulously ascertain the existing dangers and your chances of triumph. Every move must be contingent enough to adjust to the ever-changing circumstances.

  5. Be cautious with credit cards and online shopping.
With the help of modern technology, spending money has been made more convenient. With one swipe or click, a transaction can be completed. Though it’s a breakthrough for humanity, it is a pitfall for new, naive, and irresponsible businessmen. It is best to keep credit card or online spending at a minimum.

  6. Study
Your losses may have been caused by your inexperience or ignorance. Never commit the same mistake again. As much as possible, find opportunities to grow. Enroll yourself in business classes or be trained by the veterans in the industry.

  7. Find a reliable confidante
The corporate world can be overwhelming, it is dangerous to trek it all by yourself. Build a team that you can trust. Gather smart, honest, and hardworking people. Maintain a healthy relationship with them and continue to strive for improvements.
